a tribute to Loga...
Those wishing to pay homage to Loganathan Arumugam of the Alleycats who passed away on Monday can do so by sending an SMS message during a special tribute programme, Loga Dalam Kenangan (Loga in Memory). TV1 will be airing the three-part special programme in memory of Loganathan, better known as Loga, at 8.45pm Wednesday night. please...this is he least anyone of his fans can do...let's all pray for our dear Loga..may his soul rest in peace...

Alleycats co-vocalist Loga succumbed to cancer yesterday, but his legacy to the Malaysian music industry continues.
The younger generation cannot be expected to recall the exploits of the Alleycats, an enduring music heavyweight that is now a faintly-familiar name in the dusty annals of the Malaysian music industry.
The MTV crowd wouldn’t have even been aware of the passing of a true Malaysian music legend.
However, the seasoned listeners amongst us would have known by now that Loganathan Arumugam or simply Loga, as he was popularly known in the music fraternity, passed away yesterday in Penang after a struggle against lung cancer. He was 54.
A question that has persisted among older music enthusiasts is the exact role that Loga played within Alleycats. We have known him as the vocalist – back-up or lead – in all of the group’s gigs.
“David (Arumugam, Loga’s bandmate and elder brother) takes care of the finances, hotels and he was the leader of the band as well as its spokesperson. But Loga was 100% in charge of the band’s music. He decided the venue for our gigs, songs that we were going to play, the theme for the night and everything else connected with the music (album producers, etc). Loga worked very closely with the producer in determining the music,” said Ramesh Kandasamy, who served as the Alleycats’ guitarist for eight years.
He remembers Loga as a “jovial” person and one of the best singers he has ever known.
There is no doubt that the zest for life that Loga exuded was unmistakable and infectious. Even when he was lending his vocals or hamming it up with a tambourine, or producing those funny little jigs that became part of his personal repertoire, his famous smile never faded.
But, as Ramesh recalled, there was more to the man that his on-stage personality suggested.
Those who have encountered Loga will remember him as the affable musician with a ready “hello” for anyone.
Sadly, not many are aware of how significant the contributions of Loga and David have been towards grooming the present set of Malaysian musicians.
For musicians who grew up in the 1980s, joining the Alleycats was a means to stardom. There are still many within the Indian music arena who have been inspired by and continue to look up to Loga and the Alleycats.
“It is impossible to find anyone who has not heard of the Alleycats within the Indian community, never mind the homegrown musicians.
“When I was the manager of Lock-up (one of the pioneering bands of the Indian music scene), we approached Polygram for permission to remake one of Alleycats’ songs. We got the approval in record time – we learned later that the band actually instructed that permission be given without heavy financial bearing upon us,” said A. Gopalkrishnan, the president of the Indian Recording Industry of Malaysia.
“We don’t know whether (the instruction) came from Loga or David but we will always remember that ... Lock-up was virtually unknown back then and the support Alleycats provided was invaluable.
“Over the years, we learned that there was none of the fuss associated with big-name musicians when it came to the Alleycats ... only encouragement. In fact, the group was genuinely concerned about the growth of the Indian musicians and whenever our paths crossed, we could see that the brothers were always ready to give us a boost,” he added.
The chairman of the Music Council of Malaysia, Datuk Rahman Hassan, remembers Loga as “a committed, passionate musician ... and easy to be around with.”
Rahman is not alone: we may not have personally known Loga but at the end of any Alleycats gig, we left with the feeling of having been embraced by genuine warmth. The distance did not matter as the smile had a way of touching you. And it will remain so ...so let's all pray for Loga..may his soul rest in peace...

haih..so der goes..manchester united nil..ac milan 3..i din watch the game tho..da moment i woke up frm sleep in da morning..i quickly turned on da computer, connected da internet [wic took DONKEY years!!]..and logd on 2 www.manutd.com ...da 1st ting is saw... ALL HAIL DA CHAMPIONS!!!
AAAAAAAARRRRGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! dat was my reaction when i watched ronaldo's 4th goal going in! i was screamin as if i've lost every piece of mind i had!!! man wat a game...chelsea drew sumore...wat more can i ask..hopefully chelsea won't perform well in their next 4 games...and all can hail man united CHAMPIONZ!!!!
lurvvvvvvv man utd!! i would personally like to thank Phil Neville for proving that he's still a true man utd player as he scored an OWN GOAL!!!!!!! wakakakakakakakakaka..how dumb can he get?? LIVERPOOL lost to PORTHSMOUTH 2-0 i think..anyways, phil's own goal gave man utd a 3-2 lead..man u were losing 1-0 in the 1st half...chelsea on the other hand were leading 2-1 at the same time period...den sum wacko from the opponent team equalised chelsea's goal and man utd's ronaldo sailed da 4th goal in..and do u noe where exactly i was when my dearest team were winning their cute booties off?? wacking briyani in a restaurant kat BANGSAR!! i was watchin da 1st half in Chillies when we decided to go for briyani at Anjappar's...i had hope that this game was man u's..so i left..but i wish i didn't go 4 briyani instead...i wanted to cheer for ma team man!!!! stupid larr i...anyways...congratulations to man utd...poor thing their defenders are all out..hurmm...but i know that they'll wash AC Milan down the loji drain on the semi-finals...i hope black crow [kaka] gets injured tho...forget abt that..man utd's winning..i guin 2 curik2 watch da game..hopefully ip my dad doesn't wake up to catch me sneaking...it's at freaking 2.30 am wednesday man...aiyo..why can't dey have it on tues morning..at lis i can watch it when the next day is a holiday..haih...nonsense!!!! but..whether i watch da game live or not..my support for my team will never reduce..let alone fade!! i'm by ur side man utd....regardless whether you know i exist or not!!

ting ting ting...
dun mind da title..im freaking bored rite now! exam is juz around the corner..and i haven't finished my homework..and neither have i studied anything! and no..i stil haven't practiced my dance!! my ass is soo guin 2 die 2mro..haih..lazy me! im abit pissed to..cuz MR.YKW punye myspace and friendster all filled wit bitches! i min his friends larr....nt eviwan are bitches..da people i know are not bitches...da people i don't..well, enough said!!!!
aarrggghhhhh!! i dun like it when der r alot of girls in the picture! it juz further complicates things!! and no, im NOT jealous!! [ya rite..!!]..but i don't want 2 say anthing to him..it's not like it's gona make any difference...

[means pening!]....anyways...today is my last 'home-2cen' day..i u/stan stuff btr wen im in a 2cen centre..nt one to one...bio is geting more n more boring...i think il sleep on da exam day larr...tooooo much 2 memorise...and sejarah!!...i hate modern maths! i h8 da tcher achuli..she makes me sleep in clas..and same goes to my add maths tcher..i don't like her..my chemistry tcher is cool..she met her husband in form 4..coupled with him since then! so she's okay about me n MR.YKW...she found out abt us when i was in the lab..i went to da toilet for 2 minz and came back to the lab to find out that she selongkar my pencil case!! it was filled wit papers with his name..she was okay larr..it's juz dat she keeps making fun of me..haih..duno when ramesh sir is having th replacement clas..cnt wait 4 it..not to brag but another reason y i so smangat want 2 go 2 dat 2cen centre is cuz da malay guys der ACTUALLY look at me...at least i won't look like an idiot who 'usharr' a guy pdhal he xpandang oso!! da mly guys in da 2cen are CUTE!!!! wat i dun gt is...no wan in ma skul pandang me..but in 2cen..it's a whole different citer!!..man im liking this!! hehehe..they call me awek..hehehe...lukz like wat amir sed is true..they col girls their awek pdhal bulum tok to them oso!! cool..not trying to bring up a racial controversy tho...indians are the same too..the only difference is..they follow you BACK HOME!!!!!..and make your life a living hell..so indian gurls out there..if u want to flirt..flirt wit da malay dudes...at least you don't need to fear about guys stalking you..besides, im sick and tired of flirting with indian fellas!! maybe cuz i've had enough of that in gom-buck!...but hekk, who cares...enjoy life to the fullest..i hope my mum doesn't read this blog..or im a DEAD chick!! prolly be on da table served with parsleys and soup!!..haih....i think im gona go to sleep now...so bye..hehehehe..!!!

hurmmm...holidays!.get's me thinking...
don't you just love when holidays come?? snugging yourself under ur buchuk blanket which you haven't washed 4 ages, waking up after that and eat...and continue sleeping till the next day...i just woke up from sleep 10 minz ago after sleeping at 4pm...it was cooooool...so my holiday is going to be pretty much the same...NOTHING!! juz studying [me??] and online-ing...blogging maybe...definitely sleeping and eating more [ya..that's more like it!]..it's been 3 weeks now my dance class got cancelled..my sir is bz..and i, being a lazy pig, din even practice my dance ONCE!!...sometimes i sit and wonder, whether i actually want this...but when i ask myself, i actually do really want this badly..but y am i so lazy?? i don't kow..i have this
'' i am a good dancer '' at the back of my head i guess...my dance teacher...the previous one of course..has practically installed that feeling in my head 4 5 freaking years...everything is '' roshni your good '', '' look at how roshni does it '', '' roshni you're the best student i've ever had ''...you know what the worse part was..i wasn't any good actually...so i have put the thought of 'i am the best' kinda thing in me 4 5 years, and when i moved on to another sir what did i find out?? i actually sucked the whole time...it took him 1 freaking year to ''renovate'' me...and yeah, i suffered severe scolding and insults..but i'm thankful to him that now, atleast, i am better than what i was..when i sit and wonder how would i actually be dancing if i continued practicing my dance with the previous teacher..man it gives me GOOSEBUMPS..i would have made a total fool out of myself...i really want to be a proffesional dancer...deep down...but why am i not working my butt out in being one..i don't know..i want to change this all...i want to really impress my sir..i want to prove him wrong...i want him to think that i AM good...my class is most prolly on saturday..i have 2 days to work things out...to tell myself i have to practice..i have potential..it's juz that i'm giving too much face for myself..hurmmm...got 2 stop doing that...but let me tell you this, i WILL become a proffesional dancer...a famous one...and make my sir very proud of me! mark my words guys...i ain't kidding...
